Salem Preschool
As early as 1975, the question of providing a Christian crèche to meet the needs of children in our community was raised. Salem Daycare Centre opened its doors as a ministry of Westway Community Church on 1 June 1978. Starting with only three children, Salem quickly grew to 42 children by the end of that year. Nearly 50 years later, by the grace of God, Salem is still meeting the needs of families in our community.

Our curriculum and learning approach
Our Lambs and Ponies classes follow the Isivuno Curriculum, a Bible-based early childhood development (ECD) and preschool programme.
This equips our learners with structured lesson plans, daily programmes and educational strategies that align with the national CAPS curriculum.
Our Bears and Lions classes follow the CAPS curriculum in preparation for Grade 1. It is our daily mission to share the love of Jesus with each child. Bible stories and songs are therefore incorporated in various ways throughout the day.
